![]() |
Description The MedPoweRx UPS – RIS / PACS Series, Model LT and Model LTR are single phase, seamless transfer, uninterruptible power systems (UPS) for use with healthcare IT applications such as: healthcare networks, RIS / PACS, high-performance workstations, telecommunications, and other critical data transfer and storage applications. The MedPoweRx UPS protects EHR / EMR data and images from power line disturbances and outages, which promotes HIPPA-compliancy. Single Phase Sizes: 700VA, 850VA, 1.0kVA, 1.2kVA, 1.4kVA, 1.6kVA, 1.8kVA, 2.1kVA Features & Benefits Technical Specs Applications FAQ |

FAQ
No. Ferroresonant technology is used to eliminate the “break in power” associated with standby designs. In addition, standby systems provide little to no power conditioning, but the LT and LTR models condition, regulate, and filter the power 100% of the time. Healthcare IT systems receive a steady, spike-free, sinewave voltage, regardless of incoming power conditions. The LT and LTR models incorporate a highly-efficient ferroresonant transformer that produces a steady output voltage over a wide range of input voltages. Even in severe brownout conditions, these models deliver regulated voltage to within +/-3% without using battery power. The UPS’s ferroresonant transformer remains in the power circuit 100% of the time. Since the transformer is designed to recreate the output waveform at 60Hz or 50 Hz, the voltage distortion of other frequencies will not be present in the output. The UPS corrects for bad input voltage waveforms with distortion levels as high as 40%. Most standby UPS units will not tolerate over 7% distortion, and they switch to battery backup. The LT and LTR preserve the battery power for outages only. The limited voltage surge protection that a standby system offers is provided by its TVSS circuit. The typical TVSS protection is no more than a couple of "dime" to "nickel-sized" metal oxide varistors (MOV), with limited capability and an unpredictable life expectancy. In contrast, the LT and LTR suppress voltage surges and attenuate transients via a power conditioning isolation transformer. The transformer absorbs the high-energy transients, and eliminates waveform notching and reverse voltage spikes. Yes. The output filter circuit removes unwanted frequencies generated by non-linear loads. This characteristic lowers the high load current demand and improves the power factor. The load draws less current and produces much less heat; increasing its efficiency and extending its life. The LT and LTR use a high-level isolation, ferroresonant transformer for power conditioning. Only an isolation transformer removes common mode noise (the noise generated on the ground lead). Most other UPS's do not incorporate an isolation transformer. Some models provide a tapped auto-transformer used for limited voltage regulation. They ignore the need for common mode noise attenuation. Site wiring is typically an unknown. There may be voltage variations, ground current that causes disruptive operation (unsolvable with TVSS), mixed grounds, etc. The UPS’s power purifying isolation transformer generates the equivalent of a new power source dedicated to the load. It creates a new clean ground reference, and establishes a central ground point for all loads. Yes. Load-generated noise and harmonics are suppressed and not allowed to reach the input power source. Standby UPS's simply don't correct for harmonics. |
